Matt Damon and Jeremy Renner look set to work together on a fifth ‘Bourne’ film. Frank Marshall, who has produced all four of the action movies, The Bourne Identity, The Bourne Supremacy, The Bourne Ultimatum and forthcoming The Bourne Legacy in the franchise – wants the pair to work together on another motion picture in the series and admits “all possibilities are open” to the actors joining forces. Frank Marshall stated:
“You see there are several different programs in [Legacy] with different skill sets. All possibilities are open. My dream is that in the next one we see Matt and Jeremy team up.”
Will There Be a Standalone Nick Fury Film?
Filed Under: News • Posted on June 26th, 2012 by Rachel • No Comments
Rumors are circling that Marvel Studios is planning on developing a Nick Fury Film. According to Internet Movie Database, Andrew W. Marlowe has written a screenplay based on the characters created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby.
Samuel L. Jackson reportedly signed a 9 picture deal with Marvel to portray Nick Fury in 9 different movies, but nothing is confirmed for a Nick Fury standalone project. It is rumored that Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Clark Gregg, Cobie Smulders and Samuel L. Jackson will be featured as the main cast. No director has been attached to the film and no release date has been set.
The IMDB plot outlined is as follows:
A daring amateur boxer from Hells Kitchen is recruited by the Army for some top-secret assignments. He soon is promoted to captain, where he puts together the First Attack Squad, a group of elite soldiers who carry out elite missions.
Please keep in mind, IMDB is not a confirmed/done deal website – it is user updated. Please take caution when reading any unconfirmed projects.
So far I have not been able to find any (reliable) source to confirm or deny this … so take it with a grain of salt. Rumor has it, Jeremy is in talks to join the cast of Red 2 as a character called Dustin. Directed by Dean Parisot, Red 2 stars Bruce Willis, John Malkovich, Mary-Louise Parker, Helen Mirren, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Byung-Hun Lee, and possibly Jeremy Renner and is slated for an August 2nd 2013 release date.
Please keep in mind, this is just a rumor until otherwise stated.
Sigh. The Bourne Legacy theatrical release date has been pushed back due to the potential longevity of Warner Bros. impending hit The Dark Knight Rises and a conflicting release with Sony’s actioner Total Recall. “The Bourne Legacy” was originally scheduled for release on August 3, but now will not arrive until August 10.
“The Dark Knight Rises” is scheduled for its grand arrival on July 20, what would have been two weeks prior to The Bourne Legacy. As “The Avengers” proved in May, “The Dark Knight Rises” could remain a strong box office draw for multiple weeks beyond its record threatening debut. The further “The Bourne Legacy” is from it, the better the odds of a bigger opening.
In addition to shifting an extra week beyond “The Dark Knight Rises”, The Bourne Legacy now avoids the August 3 release of Sony’s “Total Recall” reboot from director Len Wiseman and starring his wife, Kate Beckinsale, along with Colin Farrell. Both Recall and Legacy would have been targeting the same audience so this move makes sense for both studios involved.
The Bourne Legacy is the fourth film in the Bourne franchise and first to star Jeremy Renner who is taking over the reigns from Matt Damon. Universal is hoping to launch a new series of Bourne flicks with Renner in the lead. In a perfect world, Legacy will match the big $54.8 million put up by Fox’s Rise of the Planet of the Apes in early August last year. The Dark Knight Rises could still be playing in the same box office numbers ballpark by August 10. (Source)
The Weinstein Company has had their eyes on James Gray’s Low Life since it premiered at Cannes last month, and now they’re making a move. Deadline reported that TWC is in the process of acquiring U.S. rights to the period drama, making it Gray’s second film to find distribution through the company.
The deal could mean big changes for the film, mainly the loss of its title – it even says Untitled James Gray Project on IMDB. The film has been called “Low Life” since January, but it appears that may have to change for a while.
Gray wrote and directed Film Formerly Known As Low Life, which was recently completed in New York. Set during the 1920s, it stars Marion Cotillard as Sonya, a Polish immigrant who turns to prostitution during her voyage to America in order to buy food and medicine for her ill sister. Upon landing, she’s tricked into a life of burlesque and vaudeville by a predatory sleaze named Bruno (Joaquin Phoenix). Jeremy Renner plays Bruno’s cousin, Orlando, a magician who tries to save Sonya and reunite her with her sister who is being held on Ellis Island.
TWC will release the film sometime next year. (Source)
